The church investigated this a bit and commissioned the scroll of interplanetary teleport, advised people to be on the lookout for anything that could be brain slug activity, started trying to develop anti-brain-slug artifacts, and added brain slug screening to palace security.
- and the truth will set you free, page 31: The approximate content of the meaningful stares is that Khemet suggested lunch in a 'let's continue interacting with Visser Three and his new friends in a deescalatory context' sort of way, and Matirin resents being asked to stop having a tail when Visser Three is right there, and Khemet is like "in my demiplane. come on. what is the threat model here." And Matirin is like "I don't need a THREAT MODEL to prefer a TAIL." And Khemet is like "I can evict people from my demiplane at will by wanting them gone, this is better than a tail which you can't even usefully use without killing this poor random Chelish girl."
- and the truth will set you free, page 33: The reason Hagan is here is that Khemet sent him a Sending saying "hey there are space alien versions of us," assuming Hagan would be interested and show up. So, in particular, Hagan's presence in the palace does not imply that his cover is broken.
- and the truth will set you free, page 51: There is a 10th-level mystic theurge class feature that allows you to simultaneously cast arcane and divine spells with the same casting time. Nefreti used this to do a Major Creation while she did the True Resurrection so that Parmida would show up clothed, and you have to do them a bit off the ground for that but she got the distance slightly wrong.

- can't breathe in your atmosphere, page 58: Symbols of Sleep affect everyone within 60 feet and are very overpowered for this use case; the Bag of Holding was necessary to limit its effects to Carissa herself.
